You can delete your Credait account and the personal data linked to it at any time. This applies to every account, including accounts created with Google, Meta (Facebook) or LinkedIn sign-in.
Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules under it. For the personal data covered here, Credait is the “Data Fiduciary”.
What we receive when you sign in with a social account
When you sign in with Google, Meta (Facebook) or LinkedIn, we receive only your name and email address. We never receive your password, and we never post anything on your behalf. The other details on your Credait profile, such as your mobile number, date of birth, city, state and skills, are entered by you directly.
How to delete your account
- Log in to your Credait account.
- Click the power button at the top right, then go to Settings > Manage Account > Deactivate Account.
- Confirm when asked.
Once you confirm, your profile and personal data are removed from our live systems immediately, and from our backups within 30 days.
If you cannot log in
Email [email protected] from the email address linked to your account, with the subject “Data Deletion Request”, and tell us which sign-in method you used (Google, Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn, or email and password). We will verify your request, delete your data within 30 days and confirm by email.
What we may keep
In some cases, the law requires us to keep limited records, for example invoices and payment records for tax and accounting, security logs, and records we need to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud. We keep these only for as long as the law requires or as needed for that purpose, and then delete or anonymize them. We do not use them to show your profile to employers.
Removing Credait’s access from your social account
You can also remove Credait’s access from your social account: on Facebook, go to Settings > Apps and Websites; on Google, go to Account > Security > Third-party access; on LinkedIn, go to Settings > Data privacy > Permitted services. This stops the sign-in connection but does not delete the data we hold, so please delete your account as described above as well.
